Module 1: Introduction to Privacy

This module introduces some fundamental concepts related to privacy, explains why protecting personal information is important and introduces the legal and policy framework for the protection of personal information.

Module 2: Public Sector Privacy Legislation

This module briefly describes the privacy provisions of Newfoundland and Labrador's Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act . This statute has general applications across government and therefore lays out the basic rules for protection of personal information.

Module 3: Privacy Safeguards

This module presents some simple measures that can be employed within an organization to improve data security.

Module 4: Access

This module looks more closely at the second major component: the public's right to access government records.

Module 5: Pulling It All Together

This module will try to make it all real for you through interactive case studies.
