Fish and Wildlife Enforcement

Protecting our Fish and Wildlife for Future Generations

About our logo and shoulder flash

Newfoundland and Labrador’s iconic caribou, wild Atlantic salmon and our magnificent land and seascapes form the basis of the brand logo of the Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Division.  Serving as the primary identification of Fish and Wildlife Enforcement, the logo will be used on uniforms, vehicles and in various public relations initiatives.

In addition to the caribou and the Atlantic salmon, the new logo incorporates key elements of the Newfoundland and Labrador environment.  Our prominent rocky landscape is the natural habitat of  the caribou, and the main colours used in the brand – orange, blue, black and white – speak to Newfoundland and Labrador’s inspiring seascapes and natural beauty, and represent traditional law enforcement colours. The shoulder flash was designed to give instant identification to officers in the field. The bold font and colour scheme were inspired by the brand logo.  The scales of justice identify officers as Department of Justice employees.  The provincial brand logo is positioned beneath the primary shape to show provincial identity.

Careful consideration went into developing the logo and shoulder flash so that it accurately reflects the mandate of the new Division and the role it plays in protecting our valuable natural resources.  The logo and shoulder flash will quickly identify enforcement officers to the public and equally shows the importance of conservation and protection of our wildlife and inland fish stocks.
